// Let Us Drink The Sun

A drink, a good drink – subjectively good – is a vessel. It can be a vessel for exploration, for meaning, for discovery; for communication of ideas and memories and stories. A good photograph of a drink – or a film or a painting – even just for the internet, should be the same. Even incrementally, subtly, privately. Of course sometimes, to bounce Freud off Curtis, a negroni is just a negroni … sitting at a bar, in front of a lens, asking someone to make it look delicious. But not here. Not always. Not fully. I dreamed the sun became a drink. A myth of the sun, drawn down from the sky by a human hand like an orange from a tree, its essence captured and shared among us. I dreamed this was the real magic of the drink; a vessel. This is everything to me, and I am everything to this.
