Spritz (2023)

Spritz (2023)
A composited image built from almost two dozen separate photos of bubble clusters shot in my East London studio (the bubble-blower cautiously borrowed from our son), Spritz is a cacophonous riot of joy and effervescence and … pink.
The “eyes” of the bubbles are reflections of a trusty old studio ringflash. The colour of the background lies perfectly between Neon Intensity and Classy Exuberance. And the resulting print would look fabulous framed over a coral bathtub or an erstwhile calm kitchen counter, or even as a daily reminder to celebrate existence itself (Spritz Up Your Life? Live, Laugh, Spritz? etc.) in a bedroom.
Now returned from its zeitgeist moment of ubiquity, as a cocktail the Spritz is truly the ultimate aperitif: refreshing yet decadent, not too-boozy, easy to individualise and a breeze to scale up for company. The Spritz print was a real joy to make – and I hope it brings joy to any colour-lover’s home and life.
